FAQ
About Feng Shui
What is Feng Shui? It’s where you put your mirror, right?
Feng shui is an ancient art and science — originating in China over 6,000 years ago. It works with the natural flow of energy, chi (Qi’), to optimise any environment and was used to decide in which directions to build.
Feng Shui means ‘wind-water’ – the changing currents between heaven and earth. Between us and the whole universe
Energetic principles help us shape space to create less resistance and more strength. Nature is the guide, which also means our nature.
Feng Shui isn’t about rules but adapting our space to support our own unique energy so everything feels in flow.
How does Feng Shui actually work?
Feng shui creates harmony between you and your environment — both of which are unique to you.
Think of it as Reiki for your home, working with the energy of your space the way a healer works with the energy of a body.
Since the inner and outer worlds are deeply connected, when we shift one, the other follows. Working with the flow of Qi energy, the Five Elements, the Bagua, art and symbolism, and your own intentions, we shape your space so it actively supports who you’re becoming.
It’s a powerful catalyst when you’re on the cusp of something new.
How do you pronounce Feng Shui?
It’s pronounced “fung shway” and looks like this in Chinese:
風水
“Feng Shui is living in harmony with nature and yourself.”
Why do Feng Shui?
You may have explored self-development or therapy but struggled to maintain the shifts. Because your home has a constant impact on you, feng shui can often be the missing piece of the puzzle.
It’s especially powerful during times of transition, and helps to:
Simplify and reduce overwhelm
Clarify intentions and create an environment that strengthens them
Express your personal style — or even discover what it is
Create a nurturing, supportive home
Improve health and wellbeing
Boost confidence and career momentum
Buy or sell property
I started doing feng shui for myself and now love helping others make shifts in their own lives.
I work with your tastes, bringing experience from art, design, and deep energy work to help create an energetic match in your home.
How’s Feng Shui different to interior design or common sense?
You will create a beautiful, balanced home which will work on your energy on deeper levels.
BASED IN NATURE
Feng Shui works with the universal laws of nature and the Five Element cycle. It recognises us—and our homes—as part of the larger ecosystem.
When we get in rhythm with nature, we receive its energetic support.
BASED ON YOU
Unlike superficial or trendy design, Feng Shui includes your personal energetic imprint.
It asks: How do you live? How do you want to feel?
Feng Shui considers your unique character, elemental makeup, habits, dreams, and desires. You’ll create a space that not only expresses your true self but supports the changes you’re ready to make.
TRANSFORMATIONAL
Our homes tell our story. Feng Shui acts as a diagnostic tool—highlighting blind spots and patterns so you can make empowered choices.
It’s often deeply therapeutic, creating a feedback loop: we feed the space, and the space feeds us. Rather than striving for perfection, Feng Shui is about deep connection and ease.
Q. This all sounds pretty woo woo. Is Feng Shui religious?
No. This school of Feng Shui is completely free of religious association and works with tangible energy and matter.
When I use terms like spirit or spirituality, I’m referring to our individual connection to meaning—something greater than ourselves. In that sense, it’s simply about what matters most to you.
Why’s Feng Shui so helpful for Neurodiverse Women?
Women are evolutionarily more attuned to their environment (to protect ‘the nest’)
As neurodiverse, we’re more sensitive to what’s around us, yet more likely to struggle with organising and setting up our space with intention.
That combination can feel like a trap. Feng shui turns it into an advantage:
work with your chaos (and find the meaning in the mess)
Understand your energetic patterns and work with them
Create gentle systems that suit your wild brain
Feel safe, supported and feeling the right amount of stimulation
Feel more in control of your life
Your sensitivity becomes the strength it always was. When your space matches your energy, something shifts.
It’s a joy loop that keeps reinforcing itself. And because Feng Shui evolves with you, as you rearrange your room for the 10th time, it opens up more possibility.
“Anna brings a calm radiating energy which immediately instills confidence. She really understands how practical changes in the home can improve the energy and have a deeper positive effect on all areas of your life.
A truly worthwhile experience that I intend to repeat in my new home.’’
how I work
What’s it like to go deep with Feng Shui?
Before we meet, I review everything you’ve shared about your home and your life — what’s working, what’s not, and how you want to feel. I build an energetic picture and arrive already knowing where to look.
When we’re together we go room by room, looking at flow, layout, and the energetic patterns that have built up over time. Everything is mapped to your specific intentions, your nervous system, and how you actually live — not a generic ideal of what a home should look like. We match your space to you.
As an artist, I bring a symbolic and compositional eye to the work. I particularly support neurodivergent to use creative chaos as a compass to gain more clarity without changing who you are.
We find what’s holding you back and work out practical ways to shift it so everything starts to feel easier (and more fun).
Aterwards you receive a written report with tailored recommendations. For whole home readings, you also get a video replay and ongoing email support while you implement the changes.
Integration takes time, so I build in follow up calls to make sure the work is working for you.
Will I have to spend alot of money changing my home?
Not at all. I encourage sustainable, resourceful design. Often, it’s more powerful to remove or rearrange what you already have.
You can make meaningful shifts without spending anything. If you enjoy simple DIY projects, I’ll suggest easy ways to make gentle but powerful changes.

Other questions
Q. Can Feng Shui help with something specific, like sleep, creativity, or relationships?
Absolutely. Feng Shui works best when it’s rooted in your real needs and intentions.
finding it hard to sleep, never getting round to your art, unclear where your relationships stand, — if something feels like its heavy, flat or not moving, there’s always something in the space that’s part of it. We’ll start there.
Q. How personal do I need to get?
You’re in control of what you share. While the more open you are, the deeper we can work, you don’t have to reveal anything that feels uncomfortable.
All client information is 100% confidential.
Q. Do you offer in person consultations?
Most sessions take place online, which means I work with clients across the world.
For in-person visits, whether local to London or Sussex, elsewhere in Europe, or further afield — I do occasionally take on travel consultations. These are priced individually and available on request.
If you’d like to explore working together in person, I’d love to hear from you.
Q. I struggle with focus, and sitting still. Is that ok?
You’re not alone in this, and I work in a flexible, non-judgmental way. It’s okay to move around, take breaks, or let me know if you’re feeling overstimulated.
You’re welcome exactly as you are. If it feels supportive for your partner or family to join the consultation, they’re very welcome.
Q. When will I feel the effects?
Some people notice an immediate shift where things feel clearer, lighter, more aligned. Others experience more gradual change as they live into the space with new awareness.
Feng Shui isn’t just about the home. It’s about how you inhabit it. The more you engage with your space, the more it reflects and supports who you’re becoming.
Q. I have a tiny studio. Is it still worth doing Feng Shui?
Absolutely. Feng Shui is a way of seeing and understanding space. It works at every scale, from a desk to a studio flat, a whole house to a country. Even the digital space on your computer.
Wherever there’s space, there’s Qi to work with.
Q. I am ready to Make Space for Myself, what do I do now?
